LA Part 4 (with pics)
Here we go.
I went to Hollywood & Highland Center today. Let me tell you, that’s a dense place for tourists. The following are some things I took pictures of.
First off, this is my apartment building, and here is my street. Woo palm trees.
Forecast said it would storm today. They were pretty close… (not)
I think that all the typography stuff at the metro stop that I get on every day for work it really cool, so these are pictures of it.
I got to the H&H Center and man there were a lot of people. This is the courtyard, these are some people in it and this is the famous Hollywood sign which overlooks it.
It’s also on the Walk of Fame which has all the stars…. uh…. stars out on the sidewalk. I got pics of William Shatner, Steven Spielberg, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Spacey, Godzilla and Groucho Marx.
It is also littered with character impersonators such as Spiderman and Venom, Dumbledore, Wolverine (apparently those two are in business together), Jack Sparrow, The Tin Man and Michael Jackson. Yoda was taking a smoke break.
Up the block a bit was Grauman’s Chinese Theater. It has all of the concrete writings/handprints/footprints there. I found Shirley Temple’s.
There are also some people on the street just doing things. A lady that played the sax while listening to her iPod, and some guy who was trying to get out of chains in a straight jacket.
Finally there are of course movie theaters around. There was one with a HUMUNGOUS Wall•e balloon thing. That screen below Wall•e was a video ad, not a static poster.
Well that is about all I did. Here’s all the photos in a big zip file if you want em. I’m glad I went out there. It was pretty cool. I might even do it again next weekend.
